Kickback scandal will not affect OEM cooperation with Apple, says Pegatron
Taiwan-based Pegatron Technology, in response to a Financial Times report that Kaedar Electronics, its wholly owned China-based maker of plastic components, was involved in the kickback scandal involving Apple employee Paul Devine, has stated that it acquired Kaedar in 2008 and Kaedar is not involved in its supply chain for Apple’s iPhone and iPod products.

Lite-On IT lands OEM orders for external Blu-ray drives from Plextor
Philips & Lite-On Digital Solutions (PLDS), a Taiwan-based joint venture of Philips Royal Electronics and the largest Taiwan-based optical disc drive maker Lite-On IT, on June 3 announced a strategic alliance with Japan-based vendor Plextor, with Lite-On IT to undertake OEM production of an external 4x Blu-ray Disc (BD) drive for Plextor and PLDS to be responsible for global marketing.
