Never Felt So Helpless in My Life
I came home from work early yesterday suffering from shortness of breath and as a lack of breath is a killer I thought I better go to the walk-in centre as it is about 30 seconds from the train station.
Upon arrival at the centre I was rushed in to see a nurse and was put on a ventilator and an ambulance was called. I ended up at hospital for the next 5 hours being prodded and poked and having xrays carried out.
It turns out I have an advanced chest infection which had it not been caught would have meant a lengthy stay in hospital. I am on antibiotics and they expect it to clear up in a week or 2.
I have never felt so helpless in my life because I nearly passed out through shortness of breath this morning trying to lift the baby out of his cot. Now I am sat at the computer whilst the missus is doing all the housework and dealing with the baby and feel so guilty because I cannot do anything.
Simply walking from room to room means I need to sit down for about 5 minutes before I catch my breath.
